May I present Captain Dave and his Pirate Princess Martha

They’re the most recent graduates of Captain Dan’s University of Sailing, Scrimshaw and Piracy. Actually, well, actually that’s pretty much the truth. Dave, Martha and I spent a great chunk of last week checking out Dave’s new-to-him MacGregor. It’s one of the old ones i.e. it’s a sailboat that feels like a sailboat. You’ll see the two of them in somewhat different garb sailing these waters aboard The Pearl.

John Harrison’s account of his ASA 104 trip is in our Cruising Guide at http://www.sailchannelislands.com/CIcruisingguide/SC.php click on Willows

Sail Channel Islands News:
It looks like our October testing cycle may get pushed into November.
Sailing Conditions for Ventura and Vicinity
It looks like a normal Fall pattern. We’re heading to Santa Cruz on a charter today and expect winds in the 10-15 knot regime, smallish swell, which is forecast to be from the south and altogether great weather for a charter sail, kayaking at Scorpion and maybe a swim. For the whole scoop on Wx
