Big swell, little wind on Ventura coast

Big swell and winds less than 10 knots …. just not a good time to head out. Going to the beach is worthwhile. The surf is spectacular as are the sunsets. Share on Facebook

Dolphins of December cruise the Southern California Coast

Eric and I were supposed to finish off the requirements for ASA 103. We managed to anchor and complete our docking exercise, but, alas no wind. So no Man Overboard, no reefing. Eric starts advanced sail training on Ventura coast

Eric had his first day on the ocean in Wiley, completing a large chunk of ASA 103 today, including getting underway, docking, all points of sail and reefing. High winds continue on Ventura coast

We decided – after looking out our back window – that another day reefed all the way down was more than we wanted to take on. Instead, we’re off to the Sailtime annual Christmas party. Sailing with Eric tomorrow, when we expect a bit less challenge. View from the back window Share on Facebook
