Xmas day-sailing on the Ventura coast

Xmas aboard WileyThe weather is shaping up very nicely for day-sailing here in Southern California. We’re going to strip off these Xmas decorations and head to sea. A little rain is forecast, but that won’t be on the horizon until 26 Dec.

I’m a midwestern boy and believe in playing outside every day that isn’t below 30 or raining (hard) or sleeting or raining mud.

I just can’t NOT sail on days like this. Summer is fine – well, actually just OK around here. That is to say there IS weather in the form of fog and/or low clouds then. But right now you can see forever, the seas are rolling gently and the wind has been just right for that big Genoa or the Xmas cruising chute that’s under your tree.

Come on out and play on the water this weekend.
