Class 07-01 completes ASA 101 & 103 written test at Sailtime Channel Islands Sailing School
January sailing in these parts has been pretty great. Yeah, it’s true you’ve got to be careful of the storm systems, but between them we’ve had some great weather.
Right now, the wind is blowing strongly and warmly out of the East. Call it Santa Ana if you like, but I call it the express train.
Flat seas, brisk wind — looks good to me. But it is very important to understand how this could develop (could get strong) and what’s forecast (dying out later in the day).
Check my weather links before you head out.
Sailflow is one of the best for figuring out how the wind will shift in the Santa Barbara Channel.
See you on the water
