Update on Morse Point Anchorage, Santa Cruz Island
More specifically, this is an update on the Gull Island area, which you’ll transit going to either Morse Point or Malva Real anchorages.
According to Fagan, there’s a lot of kelp in the area. That wasn’t true for a the last few years, but as this picture shows, it is once again — and it seems to be growing fairly rapidly.
We did not investigate the area between Gull Island and the body of Santa Cruz, but from a distance, that looked pretty well choked as well.
If you have updates for our Cruising Guide please drop me a line and I’ll bring the page up to speed.
