Why sailing looks iffy on Southern California coast this weekend
It’s been blowing like hell for the last 36 hours or so. The seas are now frothy (though not quite to the mashed potatoes point.)
But it’s only Thursday and I want to go to Santa Cruz over the weekend.
After looking at all sorts of analysis and countless wx maps with their lovely swirling ISOBARS I was nothing but confused about when and where we were likely to get decent weather.
Take a look at this animation It’s a great place to start your analysis if you want to go from the general to the specific, which is a darned good way to go for a multi-day trip.
