Getting ready for the sail season in Ventura
To be candid – I don’t do this frequently enough – I don’t check my PFD as religiously as I should.
The older inflatable life jackets should be inspected every time you sail. Check for abrasions, cuts, punctures, make sure it has a cartridge and a bobbin in the green.
And once a year, you should jump in the water with it – or at least orally inflate it to see that it holds air.

Awesome Dan!!! As you jumped in the water I was holding my breath wondering if the PFD was going to auto inflate. That is what I expect mine to do. I was thrilled when you bobbed up to the surface. Good job!
