We owned the Pacific on Friday

Hardly a boat on the water this Friday when Sancerre headed to Anacapa. Perfect sailing conditions all the way. Dolphins galore near Cat rock and heading west.

  1. This must be the time for dolphins. We were out on Sunday about 2 miles from the west end of Anacapa in foggy weather and no wind with a glassy sea. We looked ahead and thought the wind was coming up because the sea surface was showing some action. As we got closer we passed several small pods of dolphins. Then as we got closer to where we thought the wind was picking up, we realized that all of this activity was caused by hundreds of jumping dolphins covering about a square mile of sea. I estimated that there were about 300-500. It was really an amazing sight to see.
