new channel islands chartCharts have been updated in the last few days to indicate further shoaling in Channel Islands harbor, particularly along the jetties and near the Coast Guard station.

  2. Thanks for update.  Also saw this come through on today’s LNM for charts 18724 and 18725 

    Adding the chart viewer to your web page provided more insight.  Looks like it is almost preferred to come into harbor from the northern end of the jetty.  A lot more room and 20+ feet of water 

  3. The problem with the north end is that it silts up behind the north jetty. In midsummer, you can expect a peninsula to jut out just beyond the jetty. When using the north entrance, it’s good to stay close to the breakwater – but not too close (a couple of boat lengths out should be sufficient and parallel the breakwater until you’re nearing the centerline of the main channel.
