MetSpar Inc research buoy is located approximately 4 nm northwest of Ventura Harbor, in position 34-16-12 N, 119-21-36 W.
The buoy is a
yellow spar with a Fl Y 4s light at the height of 7 feet above the surface, and a steady white light at the top of the masthead at 50 feet elevation.

The U.S. Navy advises continuous guided-missile firing operations may take place in the Pacific Missile Range, Point Mugu, California.
The test area extends for 170 miles in a SW direction from Point Mugu and is up to 100 miles wide. The specific danger portions of the firing area are broadcast by the Navy daily Monday through Friday at 0900 and 1200 on 2638 kHz, 2738 kHz, and VHF-FM chan. 16.
