The National Weather Service reports:
A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN SWELLS WITH A WESTERLY FETCH ACROSS THE CENTRAL PACIFIC BETWEEN 35 AND 40 FEET.
And you’d think that would get the telegraph wires humming for all of those world-class surfers who “Ride Mountains.”
But according to the Half Moon Bay Review in the picturesque shoreside town behind Mavericks, well it’ll be a bit too windy:
One man’s danger is another’s attraction and the 24 big-wave surfers on call for the Mavericks Surf Contest have their eyes on the coast this week. They voted not to hold the contest today (Friday), but weather watchers say storm systems are stacking up out in the Pacific.
Take a look at the swell forecast. It’s going to get very interesting along the entire California coast.

The waves were epic and the surf plentiful for those who did get out there to surf. THe contest is crazy to run without Jeff Clark at the helm making the call. They so easily dismiss his experience, soul and expertise. It’s just not the same anymore.
Thanks for the storm info
