The contest is being streamed right now – Sat 0800 – MAVERICKS
Swells are “big and clean,” running about 18 feet right now producing 30-40 foot breakers. Conditions are expected to improve.
Fog clearing out near 1000. Some predicting that breakers will grow as tide recedes.
New moon, spring tides are covering my old running course … now they’re predicting 50 foot breakers at high tide – about 1000.
0917:Surf now engulfing spectators. Several people hurt. Broken legs. Public safety trying to herd spectators and press off beach.
