Don’t miss the spring flower show in the Channel Islands

Published by at 12:47 under flora and fauna, whales

The Islands are awash in color.

Winter rains have broken dormancy on an unusual number of wildflowers this year. Though not the “best ever,” it is still in the great experiences category.

Add to that a plethora of whales – Island Packer Captains are reporting up to 30 sightings a day of Grays and Humpbacks and a profusion of dolphins – estimated in the 2500 range – each day.

If you’re unable to make it to the islands this weekend, head to the National Park Service Headquarters in Ventura Harbor. They’ve got a nice little garden of island natives that is exploding with color. In fact, that’s where many of these pictures come from.

That was 3:54 that I’ll never get back.

Well, Ivan when someone close to you gets irritated by your twitchiness and they tell you to take time to smell the flowers, you can (almost accurately) tell them that you f’in have. And it only took you 3:54.

So wrap yourself up in your Pashmina Afghan and put on your Flippy Floppies and kick back … you have satisfied one requirement of the celestial to-do list.

Sounds like the Capt’n could use a couple fingers of FG?

    Dear Captain,

Please accept my apology, I think it is just wonderful that you’re so in touch with your feminine side. In fact, me and the boys are taking a trip down to Anza Borrego to watch the flowers bloom, I here it’s just marvelous! Care to join us?

    Hugs,
    Ivan

You can’t fool me, Ivan. You gotta (at least at some time in your) have (or have had) a waist ≤28 inches.

I know who you are and so do the girls at the Rudder Room, who’d love to go see the flowers with you.

    Snuggles,
    RC & various girls

    Let’s all have some FG.

I had a bottle of FG that I consumed. That was 3:54 that I’ll never get back, but really enjoyed.

Do I need to get a celestial to-do list ?

Ivan, we have seen you come and seen you go. Which is your feminine side ?

Toodles, kite and flower lovers wherever you are, and may the fabric store always have the material you want.

    Wiley -

FG is great stuff. Check the next BLOG article….

If you drink enough FG, you can disregard all the warnings about cancer, heart disease, liver malfunction, loss of spleen. You just won’t care.

But be sure you have the Family Size/Industrial strength Ibuprofen at hand.

    Ahoy Flowerlovers -

See the pretty flowers? The thumbnail that represents the work is Yarrow. Very pretty, very feminine.

Ivan wanted that – the “attractive Yarrow that reminds me of my lingerie drawer,” he said or a “translucent, delicate purple Lupine” to lead the show.

Originally, we had a manly Live Oak – Quercus Agrifolia – an outdoor man’s plant, but I figured Ivan knew more about flower-loving than I did.

I do believe it’s getting a little chippy in here.
