The National Park Service and The Nature Conservancy have returned the Channel Islands to a condition not much different from the days when the last Native Americans paddled to San Buenaventura. The National Park Service is bringing back Bald Eagles, nurturing the native foxes and sheltering endangered Brown Pelicans. If we cruise during the week, we see very few other boats, but we do see lots of wildlife: dolphins, whales (depending upon the season -- Blues, Humpbacks, Grays, Finwhales) and birds beyond number.
